Declaration "Generation '89"
The Declaration “Generation ’89” represents a voice of young citizens of the EU speaking about their European future. Having as background the events of the year 1989, the participants in this project will develop a document in which they will state their requirements for a better life as citizens of the EU. With different cultural backgrounds and different experiences as citizens of the EU, the representatives of the young generation will debate the past and imagine the future as they want it to look like.
The Declaration will deal with education, employment, culture, social issues, migration, equal opportunities, environment, economics, and Europe in the world.
In every international meeting, the participants will draft a Declaration of Generation ’89. The four declarations will be put together in a single Declaration “Generation ’89”, which will be presented by a Delegation of young participants to EU representatives in Brussels.
The purpose of this Declaration is get young people actively involved in developing ideas and proposals for the future, as citizens of the EU, and to give the decision makers an insight into EU citizens’ needs and expectations.
